Item 7 of the Table in Section 7 of the Regulation for Industrial Establishments
requires a PSR for the following circumstances:
“Any of the following are used:
1. A travelling crane, overhead crane, monorail crane, gantry crane, jib crane or other lifting device suspended from or supported by a structure.
2. A vehicle lift or hoist.”
The Regulation defines lifting devices as any device which is used to raise or lower any material or object and includes its rails and other supports. The exemptions include when the supporting structure has been designed for the lifting device in question, or a vehicle lift and hoist that have been certified.
